The British Association of Medical Hypnosis (BAMH) seeks to ensure the highest levels of hypnotherapy and is primarily a medical organisation.

Full membership of the BAMH is open only to holders of a medical or dental degree (e.g MB BS or BDS). However, the Association will accept non-medical members as Affiliates and Associates.

The association maintains a Register of approved therapists each of whom has demonstrated his or her professional abilities and standards.

On obtaining their Practitioner Diploma, candidates will be entitled to apply for Affiliate membership of the BAMH to enable their names to be placed on their Medical Register.

Affiliates must hold the PDCHyp. and also need to have completed at least one full year’s membership of their own approved hypnotherapy society/association. In addition, they must be proposed by two members of the BAMH.
